The MAXION BS 18 GL is a column tapping machine: GL in the name stands for the lead screw (Leitspindel), and a safety device protects the tool from breakage. Thread depth is programmable; a part counter and LED light are standard. Threads M3–M10 up to 60 mm deep, up to 1,000 threads per hour, 4 speed steps of 320–1,600 rpm, MT 2 taper, 250 mm throat, 0.55 kW motor, 200 kg. We check the tap size and steel grade against the thread range before quoting.
