NARGESA cold forging machines: the MT150A and MT500A CNC for twisting and bending, and the NOA60 for embossing tube, bar and flat.
Cold forging is decorative metalwork without heating: square bar is twisted, scrolls and rings are bent from bar and flat, and a relief is rolled onto tube. These elements make up wrought fences, gates, railings and grilles.
Twisting and bending is done by the NARGESA MT150A and MT500A CNC: square bar up to 20 and 40 mm, bending up to 16 and 25 mm, flat up to 35×10 and 50×10 mm, twisting lengths of 960 and 1620 mm. On the MT500A CNC the number of turns is set by the CNC, so identical twists come out across a batch. The NARGESA NOA60 embosses square tube up to 60×60 mm, solid square up to 20×20 mm and flat up to 60×10 mm at up to 10 m/min, while seven adjustable rolls straighten the workpiece.
For hot forming of bar ends and scrolls there are the NF70 and PC16 machines, and for bending tube to a radius, the NARGESA MC profile benders. General selection criteria are on the forging equipment.
No: the limit is 20 mm square bar on the MT150A and 40 mm on the MT500A CNC. Thicker bar or stronger steel needs hot forging.
