The automatic Demirci ADG3 hexagonal netting machine: a 2.4, 3.4 or 4.6 m web, 48–150 mm cell, 0.9–3.2 mm wire.
Hexagonal netting is not chain link: the wires are not threaded as spirals but twisted in pairs, forming hexagonal cells. The web is lighter and holds its shape, which is why it is used for gabions, plaster and insulation reinforcement, animal enclosures and fencing. The Demirci ADG3 is the only machine of this type in the catalog.
The cell is set by two dimensions — 48–150 mm across and 60–180 mm high — so the machine is set up separately for each product. The wire is thinner than for chain link: 0.9–3.2 mm. The weaving speed in the data sheet is given for an 80×125 mm cell — 180 running metres; for other cells it will differ.
Three things are needed to select the machine: the cell size, the wire diameter and type, and the web width — 2.4, 3.4 or 4.6 m. The width determines both the footprint of the machine and the space it needs in the shop.
At 18–28 kW this is the largest consumer in the wire processing section: for comparison, the chain-link automatic draws 7.7 kW and the barbed wire machine 2.2 kW. Worth allowing for when you size the supply to the area.
