Why butt-weld wire

A coil of wire runs out — and the weaving machine stops. The Demirci MDBW1 butt-welds the end of the old coil to the start of the new one, so wire feeds continuously. The faster you weave, the more often this is needed: the ADF3 HS automatic gets through a coil several times faster than a manual machine.

The range is 0.9–3.8 mm wire, which covers the whole mesh programme of this section: from the thin wire of hexagonal netting to heavy galvanised wire for chain link. It is the only machine here that runs from 220 V: 1.5 kW with a 16 A fuse — an ordinary single-phase socket, with no separate power line needed.

The machine is not tied to one particular line: the same joint is needed on the PVC coating line, where wire also runs continuously, and before coiling into rolls. The main requirement for the joint is an even diameter: any upset at the weld travels through the machine together with the wire.

No output is stated in the data sheet — it depends on how often coils have to be changed. Neighbouring lines are chain link and wire coiling; the full line-up is in the wire processing section.
